Whether your student is gifted and talented or has a need that qualifies them for an accommodation or an Individual Education Plan, all of our students deserve programs and policies that support their needs.
Regardless of background or learning ability, we must be steadfast in cultivating critical thinkers, resilience & adaptability, build community, global citizenry, and maximize individual potential. We must ensure every students' social and emotional needs must be met for them to excel.

Support our teachers and staff; they are essential to our student's success. Recruit and Retain top teachers and staff that reflect our community. Invest in the continual development of our teachers.
Continue investments in a Technology Plan that supports the district's strategic framework to help all students, teachers, and staff.
Maintaining our buildings, grounds, and infrastructure is essential following recent building renovations and expansions.
Together these efforts will make our district very attractive to new families.

I am Marcus Hill. I've lived in West St. Paul for 15 years, married for 20 & have three children who have attended public schools in ISD 197. My parents instilled the values of education and hard work. I am honored to serve on the ISD 197 school board currently and will bring those values of hard work and the value of an excellent education to my position as a school board member.
Committees I serve on are:
-Board Results Committee
-Association of Metropolitan School Districts
-Early Learning Advisory Council
-Equity Advisory Council
I am passionate about our community, the children, and the families that live here. I have volunteered in several schools and the local community as a scout den leader and coaching sports.
