Voting serves all of us. Thank you for your commitment.

Every student in our district has different needs, different strengths, and different dreams. Every child deserves to feel safe, seen, supported, and to have every opportunity to pursue a future that’s meaningful to them.
I’m Marcus Hill. For nearly two decades, West St. Paul has been home. My wife and I have three children who’ve come through ISD 197 schools: two still walking those halls today, and one now a graduate. My family and I love this community. Many of the kids and families here have become our friends, and our schools are the common thread that brought us together.
I’m proud to serve a community that shows up for its neighbors, where every kid counts and where people pitch in to do the hard work of raising the next generation together. Watching our schools help my own kids thrive and grow into vibrant young people is one of many reasons I serve on this board.
I’m honored to serve on the ISD 197 School Board, and continuing that work is a natural next step for me.
When our board, superintendent, and district staff work closely together, ISD 197 achieves more than a district our size has any right to. It’s how we make sure our kids’ needs are heard on the issues that matter most.

1. Belonging & Well-Being
Students learn best when they feel safe, seen, and supported. Creating schools where every student belongs is fundamental to academic success.
2. Fiscal Responsibility
Responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars helps create strong schools and bright futures.
3. Statewide Advocacy
As Chair of AMSD, I worked with school leaders and legislators to help secure record funding for Minnesota schools. I’ll continue bringing that collaborative leadership home to our district.
4. Future-Ready Students
Success after graduation is different for every student
I’m running for re-election to keep setting the direction our schools need to succeed. In partnership with the district, the board prioritized academic achievement, expanded support for student well-being, and made hard budget calls with the district’s long-term health in mind this past term.
There’s more work ahead, ensuring every policy and dollar we approve keeps students connected and prepared for what’s next, whether that’s college, career, the military, or life beyond graduation. That means holding high expectations for academic outcomes, backing our educators with the resources they need, and making budget decisions grounded in what students and this community actually need. Our schools are strongest when the board and community work together, and I’m ready to keep doing that work.
